Story by Fr. Michael Picard
The theme for this year at Camp El Har was “Unbroken”: to speak about being strong in our faith to keep us on the right path in life. Began the camp with mass on Sunday and finished with Mass on Friday. Everyday begin with an optional morning run and morning tournaments. Daily virtue talks were given by some ECYD Mission corps young men to the campers, and a priest from Houston came up to help with formation sessions in the afternoons. Each Day campers two hours of optional activities consisting in: Paintball, horseback riding, archery, putt putt, soccer, basketball and more. The camp also had survival training, team building activities, and adoration. Once again for team project each team built out of cardboard a raft to see who could be the longest serving team on the raft while being attacked by sharks (ECYD MC young men). Each night grew more intense as the campers rallied to find clues to free Louis from the captors (I.e. ECYD MC counselors). The last night climaxed in night laser tag for the final rescue.
