Story by Marvin Duarte
The boys in the Conquest Milton, ON, Canada club gathered on a Friday night to celebrate with their families some very important people, their moms. The night, the 5th annual Mother’s Day Dinner in Milton, was focused on honoring these amazing women.
The moms were able to sit back and enjoy the evening as the club boys with the help of their dads put on the entire evening event. They took over all the organization from carefully setting up the table arrangement and decor to serving dinner and deserts to busing tables and cleaning dishes.
Thirty-six families (141 attendees) enjoyed this chance to celebrate their moms. Musical pieces, speeches from the boys and the leaders of the club, and a dance of the boys with their moms all helped to make it a night for these special ladies to remember.
A highlight of the evening was the institution of a fund designed to help families of the club who find themselves in times of particular need. The event raised over $650 to get the fund off to a strong start.
Local business in the community supported the event by providing door prizes worth $500 of spa treatment, massage, haircuts and cash prizes thus pampering the moms.
As the night concluded, the participants went away very content after having celebrated the joy of being together in a family and the happiness of elegantly saying, “Thank You, Mom!”
